01Three things that fix most problems
Notifications quiet
Let the trumpet throughiOS decides whether a sound plays. Four settings control it.
- Ringer volume up; silent switch or Action button off silent.
- Settings › Notifications › BlueprintOS: Allow, Sounds, Badges, Banners on.
- Time Sensitive Notifications on, in the same screen.
- Each Focus you use: add BlueprintOS under Allowed Apps.
Pro not recognised
Restore the purchaseAfter a new phone, a reinstall or a different Apple Account.
- Sign in with the Apple Account you bought with.
- Profile › Settings › Subscription › Restore purchases.
- Wait a few seconds; the status turns to Active.
- Still not? Email us from the phone, with a screenshot of that screen.
Something odd
Close and reopenA screen stuck, a timer frozen, a plan half-written.
- Swipe the app away from the app switcher and open it again.
- Check the App Store for an update.
- Restart the iPhone if it keeps happening.
- Then tell us — it should never be necessary.
02Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. BlueprintOS has no accounts, sign-in or passwords. You open the app, answer the onboarding questions, and the app is yours. Pro is bought with your Apple Account, and Apple holds the subscription.
How long does onboarding take, and can I change my answers?
About ten minutes if you have your numbers to hand — body, sleep, work hours, fixed commitments, food, money, priorities. Everything can be changed later on the Profile tab, and edits feed straight into the next plan.
Is there a free version?
No. BlueprintOS is a subscription with a 7-day free trial. You answer the setup questions, start the trial, and then the whole app is open. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged.
Does it work on iPad, Mac or Android?
BlueprintOS is an iPhone app (iOS 17 or later). It is not available for Android, and there is no web version. An iPad can run it in iPhone compatibility mode but it is designed for the phone in your pocket, where the trumpet lives.
03Notifications (the trumpet)
The notifications aren’t loud, or aren’t showing at all
The app schedules every call with the loudest settings iOS allows for a normal app, but iOS has the final say. Check these in order:
- Ringer volume. Notification sounds follow the ringer, not media volume. Turn it up in Settings › Sounds & Haptics, and make sure the silent switch (or the Action button on newer phones) isn’t set to silent.
- Notification settings. Settings › Notifications › BlueprintOS: turn on Allow Notifications, Sounds, Badges and Banners. Set Banner Style to Persistent if you want the banner to stay until you act.
- Time Sensitive. In the same screen, make sure Time Sensitive Notifications is on. This is what lets a call break through a Focus mode.
- Focus modes. For each Focus you use (Sleep, Work, Do Not Disturb, a custom one), open it in Settings › Focus and add BlueprintOS under Allowed Apps, or allow Time Sensitive notifications in that Focus.
- Scheduled Summary. If Settings › Notifications › Scheduled Summary is on, make sure BlueprintOS is not in the summary list, or its calls will wait for the summary.
Profile › Settings shows whether notifications are allowed; if it says “Not allowed”, tap it to open the iPhone setting.
Can I make it louder than the ringer?
No app can. Apple allows a louder “critical alert” only for a small class of apps such as medical devices, and does not grant it to planners. The trumpet is as loud as the ringer and is designed to be the sharpest sound your phone makes; Time Sensitive lets it break through a Focus, but the silent switch still mutes it, so keep the ringer on. An Apple Watch relays it too.
How many notifications will I get, and can I tune them?
One at the start of each mission, a transition warning 5–10 minutes before the next one, a “leave now” call when travel is involved, and the wake-up call. The day ends with a sign-off in the app, not an alert. Profile › Coaching & alerts sets the lead time, whether a call re-fires, and the tone; quiet hours silence everything except WAKE UP; weekends can be lighter or off. Nothing is ever sent from a server — every call is scheduled on the phone from your plan.
Can I change the sound?
Not yet — the trumpet is the point of the app and it is the same for everyone. What you can change is the tone of the words, the lead time and the re-fire, in Profile › Coaching & alerts.
04Pro and billing
How much is Pro, and what does it include?
Pro is $19.99 a month or $159.99 a year (US dollars; local prices are shown in the app). It includes every AI-written feature: plan my day, craft my menu and price my list, tailor my workout, the weekly review course, find my next move, write my baseline and local resources, each with the fair-use allowance listed in the terms.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you bought with, then go to Profile › Settings › Subscription › Restore purchases. Your plans and logs are on the old phone; move them with a backup file (Settings › Backup) or let iCloud Backup bring the app’s data across when you set up the new phone.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose BlueprintOS Pro and tap Cancel Subscription — or tap Manage subscription inside the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not us: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the purchase and choose a reason. Apple usually answers within 48 hours. We can’t see or process refunds ourselves.
The app says Pro isn’t active, but I’m paying for it
First try Restore purchases (above), signed in with the right Apple Account. If the Subscriptions screen in iPhone Settings shows BlueprintOS Pro as active and the app still disagrees after a restore, email us from the phone with a screenshot of both screens and we will look at the check on our side.
What does “You’ve used today’s allowance” mean?
Each Pro feature has a fair-use allowance — for example three day plans a day, or three menus a month — because every generation costs real money to run. The message tells you which window it is; daily allowances reset at midnight UTC and monthly ones on the first of the month. The full list is in the terms.
What do “paused for maintenance” or “not configured yet” mean?
The relay that serves Pro features is briefly unavailable. Your plan, missions and logs keep working, and nothing you have is lost. Try again in a few minutes; if it lasts more than an hour, email us.
05Plans, menus and workouts
Why is it a subscription?
Plans, menus and workouts are written by an AI model, and every generation costs real money to run. The subscription covers that cost.
What is sent to the AI, and what isn’t?
Only what the feature needs: your profile numbers and the day’s commitments for a day plan, your nutrition preferences for a menu, your recent sets for a workout, and so on. The privacy policy lists it feature by feature, and our relay rebuilds every request from a fixed allow-list so a feature can never send more than it is designed to. The free parts of the app send nothing at all.
The plan is wrong for me — the times, the food, the weights
Plans are written from your profile, so start there: Sleep & energy for your hours and energy curve, Work & schedule for the job and the lunch break, Nutrition for allergies and dislikes, Body & health for your numbers and baseline. Then plan again. For weights, the first sessions are calibration: the app ramps up until a set is hard and uses that as the baseline. Tap “That was hard — stop this lift here” when it is.
I’m late or I skipped — what happens?
Tap “I’m late” and the day moves: sleep and fixed blocks are protected, and a sheet shows exactly what shifted with an Undo. Skipping logs the mission for the weekly review and puts the fallback in your day. Neither tells anyone, and neither costs a Pro generation.
Are the grocery prices accurate?
They are estimates from a web search for your postcode or ZIP at the time you asked, not live store data. Treat them as a budget guide and check the shelf. A proper price feed is on the roadmap.
What is the muscle map, and why is a muscle glowing?
The figure on a workout shows the muscle groups each exercise works. After a session they glow and then fade over the days it takes them to recover; tap a muscle to see its recovery percentage. Tailor my workout uses the same map to avoid training something that is still recovering.
06Apple Health and Calendar
What does the app read from Apple Health?
With your permission: sleep, steps, weight, resting heart rate, HRV, active energy, exercise minutes and workouts, including readings from Apple Watch and other wearables that write to Health. They shape your plan and your weekly review. It writes the workouts and weigh-ins you log back to Health. You can change each permission in the Health app › your picture › Apps › BlueprintOS. Health data is never used for advertising and never sold.
Health numbers aren’t showing
Check the permission in the Health app › your picture › Apps › BlueprintOS, and that another app or your watch is actually writing sleep, steps or weight to Health. The app reads what is there; it cannot invent a night’s sleep.
What does Calendar access do?
It is read-only. The events you choose to import become fixed blocks in your day so plans go around them. The app never adds, changes or deletes events. Turn it off in Settings › Apps › BlueprintOS › Calendars.
07Data, backups and privacy
Where does my data live?
On your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud copy held by us. Once a week the app saves a backup to Files › On My iPhone › BlueprintOS (the last six are kept), which your iCloud device backup includes. The privacy policy lists exactly what is sent when you use a Pro feature — and nothing is sent otherwise.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Either let iCloud Backup or Quick Start bring the app and its data across when you set up the new phone, or export a backup file from Settings › Backup, AirDrop it to the new phone, and restore it from the same screen. Then Restore purchases for Pro.
How do I start over?
Settings › Your data › Erase everything on this iPhone clears the app and returns you to onboarding. Before it does, it reminds you that there is no copy anywhere else and tells you where your backups are (Files › On My iPhone › BlueprintOS, the last six weekly ones), with a button to export a fresh backup first. To go back to an earlier point instead, restore a backup from Settings › Backup.
How do I delete my data completely?
Settings › Your data › Erase everything on this iPhone, then delete the app if you are done with it. Everything it stored on your iPhone goes with it (erasing from Settings keeps your backup files; deleting the app removes those too). Copies in your own iCloud backup, or backup files you moved elsewhere, are yours to remove. On our side there is nothing that identifies you — only anonymous usage counters that expire within 32 days. If you want those removed sooner, email privacy@blueprintos.io.
Do you track me or show ads?
No. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, shows no ads, and we never sell data. We only see the anonymous request counters needed for fair use, and subscription status from RevenueCat.
08Still stuck?
Email support@blueprintos.io with your iPhone model, iOS version, app version and what happened. We answer within two working days, usually the same day, and a fix for a real bug usually ships in the next update.
Feature ideas are welcome at the same address. The ones that come up most shape what gets built next.
